Money Sculpture

To some, money is a commodity, to others money is a medium.

 "Holy Trinity" Justine Smith
Money art from Justine Smith. Holy Trinity, coin mosaic by Justine Smith. London based artist Justine Smith has her own concept of money, it is an inspirational material for creating different pieces of art – prints, sculpture, collages.

"What You Might See Might Not Be Real"
Chen Wenling                 A sculpture by Chinese artist Chen Wenling titled ‘What You See Might Not Be Real’. The artwork is a critique of the global financial crisis with the bull representing the golden bull of Wall Street, and the man pinned to the wall representing the jailed financier Bernie Madoff.

"Coin Love" Justine Smith

"Obama vs McCain" Theodore Stanke
Brooklyn-based Stanke created this mosaic in the month leading up to 2008 presidential election. Created from adhesives and chopped-up American coins—Obama from pennies and nickels, McCain from quarters, dimes and dollars—the mosaic was intended to depict the distribution of wealth backing each candidate. The piece took 10 days to create and is currently for sale at Bunga’s Den in Manhattan.

"Carpenter's Tools" Stacey Lee Webber
These three tools, constructed out of pre-1992 copper pennies, are part of Stacy Lee Webber’s “The Craftsmen Series.” The artist hand-cut the pennies and soldered them together to create hollow, 3-D replicas of existing hand tools.'

"Money Dress" Dave Cole
Made of 1,000 unused single dollar bills, which Cole cut into raw materials, this 66" x 30" x 14" dress was displayed in the 2007 Radical Lace & Subversive Knitting exhibit at New York City’s Museum of Arts and Design, which was devoted to “using fiber in unexpected and unorthodox ways.”

Pretty Girls and Money

Since the Markets are so Boring Today lets Take Time To see some Beautiful Art With Relevance:
Money makes the man,
Money makes the stupid pass for smart,
Money buys the treasure for sins,
Money shows;
Money buys the pleasure-giving women,
Money keeps the soul in bliss,
Money put the common man in high estate.
Money brings your enemies down.
And every man seems down without it,
The world and fortune being ruled by it,
It even opens if you wantthe doors of paradise.
So wise he seems to me who piles up
What more than any other virtue
Conquers gloom and leavens the whole spirit.
Niccolo de’ Rossi, 1290-1348.
This is something disgustingly beautiful in my opinion.
I Want to share a few pieces of art from the "Money and Beauty. Bankers, Botticelli and the Bonfire of the Vanities". exhibition from Palazzo Strozzi.
