Well well well, it's been a few days since we last spoke, now hasn't it? That's fine, it was the weekend anyway, and we needed time apart... And on that note I want to bring up an important topic. Giving your investment portfolio a weekend, that is to say a break. Sometimes we as investors can get so caught up in the search and destroy mode. We are constantly on the look out for new opportunities that our capital can take advantage of and we forget to take a rest. That rest is essential because it gives us other opportunities that we fail to realize while we're wound up in our hectic routines. I'm a huge fan of the HBO show Boardwalk Empire and in the latest season there was a particular scene that resonated with me. In season 2 episode 8 Knucky Thompson(main character) recieves advice from Arnold Rothstein, a business associate. The advice was to do nothing. He explains that he sometimes does not gamble for days, weeks, or even months, until he sees an appealing opportunity. In between that time he enjoys his life and they accomplishments he has achieved thus far. I want to give similar advice which is to take some of the spoils you've earned and spoil yourself. Sometimes you need some time to step away from the game and enjoy yourself. Enjoy your family and your life. Spend a little of your money, that's what you made some of it for. Don't be so consumed by chasing profits that you forget to benefit from your hard work. It behooves you to create and sustain your own happiness so don't wait for anyone else to or expect them to. Go on a long weekend and remember why you're doing all of this hardworking.
-Keep your mind happy and sometimes do nothing-
