The great divide
If the division of labor is do to a difference in habitat and experiences I think it's fair to say that if you're born around people who don't know how to do anything, you probably won't have any skills therefore you will be divided away from those who do know how to do things, in the work force that is. So I guess it's safe to say that we better be looking to raise a generation of renaissance men if we wish to have them work in the divisions of labor that afford them what it is they desire and may need in proportion to their output. Adam Smith wants us to see that the division of labor/jobs and, by default, wages, are a product of a particular individuals habitat and experiences prior to and during their working life.by this account we can say that by association we are involved with the labor and business of our habitat and to a certain degree depending on those same forces. For me this says, surrounding yourself with the best even when you feel out of place. Put yourself in the middle of a congregation of people doing the things you do or want to do. And at ALL times, be looking to learn and apply because this is the practice of gaining knowledge. Remember folks, keep your mind happy and keep your habitat happy.
